Tires, Tubes, Rim Strips and Valve Caps

This collection contains unicycle tires, tubes, rim strips and caps. Most tires will last for several years as long as you keep them inflated within the proper range and ride on appropriate surfaces. We carry a wide range of tire sizes and tire widths to suit a wide variety of riding styles, as well as trials and wider tires for trail and muni riding.

Many of these tires can also be used as bicycle tires so if you’re looking for a new bike tire you’re in the right place. We also carry bike inner tubes so you can make a quick replacement if that’s what you need. If you have any questions about compatibility, or what type (or size) of tire or inner tube you need, get in touch with us and we will be happy to help.

Yes, these can effectively all be used as bike tires as long as you choose the right size, and we carry a wide variety of tire sizes ranging from 16 to 36 inches. Installing your own tires? Make sure you are prepared with tire levers! Check our collection of unicycle and bike tools for them.

Probably the two most common bike tire sizes are 29 inch (for road bikes) and 27.5 inch (for mountain bikes). However, don’t just buy based on that information as your bike is not guaranteed to have a tire of this size. Call us for more details and we will make sure you get the right size tire.

The wider the wheel, the harder it will be for the tire to sink or bite into soft material, like sand, snow, or mud. Wider tires handle better due to the larger contact patch. Another thing you can do is make sure you set your tire pressure appropriately for the conditions, as lower pressure tires will handle better on softer surfaces. For more information, see our previous guide, Setting Your Unicycle’s Tire Pressure: Getting It Right.

Tread and tire width generally impact handling on softer surfaces, such as mud, snow or sand. The wider the tire, the better it will handle, and the more aggressive the tread, the better traction it will provide, holding all else equal. There are also studded tires (and some tires that you can stud yourself) which will also improve handling.
