These pedals are the first upgrade I've made to every unicycle I've purchased. The grip is second to none, simply amazing whether I'm wearing leather soled dress shoes on a commute or a pair of Vans. With the Vans, it's like your feet are glued to the pedal. Wet or dry, it makes no difference to these pedals. The grip is sick.
After a few miles of breaking in these pedals spin smooth and freely. The bearings are good.
Now for a pro and con. These things are built like a tank and have held up to any abuse I've thrown their way. My oldest pair are 10 years old and while battle scarred still spin freely and grip like a mother. What is the con? They are heavy pedals. Being built like a tank comes at price. You need more material and weight. For me on a uni, the extra weight doesn't make much of a difference. If it were on a racing road bike, or a bmx trick bike then yeah, the weight would be a much bigger deal.
For me, these pedals are perfection, rugged, grippy, and wide. I wear a size 13 wide and my feet fit nicely with a little extra room to adjust my foot position.
The studs are adjustable with an allen wrench if you find them to grippy. These will change your ride, you'll be locked in and it is sweet. I totally recommend these pedals as a cheap upgrade with major league benefits and feel.
