This years Cali-Vancouver Muni Fest was a blast! We had a great time riding with everyone and the weather was perfect for riding. Please go to our Gallery area to see some of the other great photo's from the trip.
We want to share two short stories to let you know its not always easy traveling to events like this without hitting a small snag.
Here is Jim Sowers Story:
I got all prepared last night, packed my bags. Went to bed at a decent hour, got up early, drove to the airport with plenty of time to spare, then realized that I needed my passport! (Why can't we just annex Canada as the 51st state!). Made a mad dash home, got a friend to drive me to the airport so I wouldn't have to deal with my car, and made it 30 minutes before the flight, but that was not enough.
So, instead of driving away from the Vancouver airport at this moment (1:30pm), I'm sitting in the San Francisco airport waiting for a flight to Calgary, and from there I'll fly to Vancouver and arrive at 8pm. Not horrible, but I did lose out an a sunny afternoon in Vancouver. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow!
Here is Our Story:
We had our first flight get delayed, got another one that left in time to make our layover in MN to Vancouver. That one got delayed on the Tarmac leaving us only 10 minutes to run clear across the MN airport. Luckily they held the plane another 10 minutes for all of us to run like crazy people & make it but just. But we did have our passports!! It is a beautiful sunny day here.
Unfortunately my cycle can't make a 10 min. layover so thankfully we came a day early, the prototype Oregon did make it unscathed the next day and great riding was had!
